![]() I solved my original issue by instead creating a new table, allocating and defining all fields including the PK, then copying the data from the original table using "Append data". I just had a complete brain blank on how to solve my issue (often happens after a long day when I am trying to work on the database and my tired brain just forgets everything). I had originally copied the table back from Excel to Base (creating a new table using paste and "definition and data", not appending it to a table) and I think that maybe during the copy process, a PK wasn't allocated? The original PK field from the original table had unique integers, so I thought I could simply right-click and "specify" it as a PK once it had been created (oops, obviously wrong!) I do use View > Refresh Tables after the Tools > SQL console, and usually save, close and re-open just to ensure the changes are saved. ![]() DACM, thank you for giving me several options to explore. I have made an error somewhere (in relation to solving this post) so I am hoping you can advise me on how to remedy this (the details are at the bottom of this post).įirstly: F3K total, thank you - I think your solution might come in handy shortly, and I will add this to my arsenal of tools for amending databases. I realise on re-reading, my original post was not very clear. Thanks F3K Total and DACM for your comments.
